Alton’s Overnight Cinnamon Rolls • 07.09.07

The husband and I were watching Food Network HD the other night (the absolute best surprise when we got satellite, in my opinion) and caught Alton making cinnamon rolls. The husband isn’t as big of a fan of Food Network as I am, but he’ll watch Alton and the Next Food Network Star with me, and this is why. I wanted to make the rolls after the show was over but realized I didn’t have enough time that night so I started yesterday morning.
For some reason I’ve never had much luck with cinnamon rolls. The dough always turns out a tad too tough and they just don’t rise as much as I’d like. Alton’s, however, turned out so well that I’m already making plans to stockpile more brown sugar and cream cheese. These are amazing! They do take a little time to prepare, but I didn’t actually have them in the fridge overnight, it was more like five hours, and they still turned out perfectly. Needless to say the kids loved them as well.
